Domus Hortae is a historic family estate rooted in the heart of Puglia, owned by the Fioretti family, who have been dedicated to viticulture since 1788. For generations, the family has cultivated vineyards with passion and respect for the land, preserving a deep bond between tradition, territory, and wine.
The origins of Domus Hortae trace back to Matteo Fioretti, who settled in the countryside of Orta Nova in the late 18th century, in an area historically known as Grassano delle Fosse. This land lies within the Tavoliere delle Puglie, a fertile plain shaped by centuries of agriculture and closely linked to the ancient Locatione D’Horta.
The vineyards are planted above underground walkways that once connected rural estates to the historic center, where the Domus of Frederick II once stood. This unique historical setting reinforces the strong cultural identity of the estate.
Today, Domus Hortae combines this centuries-old heritage with a modern entrepreneurial vision. The Fioretti family continues to enhance its vineyards through careful vineyard management, technical expertise, and sustainable practices, producing wines that reflect authenticity, balance, and a profound sense of place.
