The Fioretti family’s love for the land has distant roots. Some ancient documents found in the Diocesan Archives would identify Matteo Fioretti as the first Fioretti ancestor, who arrived in 1788 in the Orta Nova countryside, a municipality located in the center of the Tavoliere delle Puglie, precisely in Grassano delle Fosse, as it is called today in the land registry lists. Passo di Grassano , so called on the historical maps, is one of the districts adjacent to the Locatione D’Horta connected to it by underground walkways, above which are planted the family vineyards, which led to the town center right where the Domus of Frederick II was located.
