Tenuta Bastonaca

Tenuta Bastonaca is a family-run winery located in south-eastern Sicily, near Vittoria, in an area historically dedicated to the cultivation of Frappato and Nero d’Avola. Founded with the aim of preserving the authentic identity of this unique territory, the estate focuses on expressing the elegance, freshness, and Mediterranean character of its native grape varieties. The vineyards are rooted in distinctive red soils composed of subalpine sands of Pliocene origin, with a limestone–siliceous matrix that naturally limits yields and enhances aromatic complexity. The mild climate, marked by sea breezes and strong diurnal temperature variation, allows the grapes to reach full ripeness while retaining balance and vibrancy. In the cellar, Tenuta Bastonaca follows a respectful, low-intervention approach, allowing each variety to express its true character. Frappato stands out for its aromatic finesse and freshness, while Nero d’Avola adds structure and depth. Together, they give life to the iconic Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG, a wine that embodies the soul of this historic appellation. Alongside the wines of Vittoria, Tenuta Bastonaca also interprets other great Sicilian terroirs, from the volcanic soils of Mount Etna to the sun-drenched island of Pantelleria, always with the same philosophy: authenticity, balance, and a deep respect for the land.
