Primosic winery is located in Oslavia village, in the heart of the Collio DOC area, in Friuli Venezia Giulia region (Italy).

For Primosic, growing vines and making wine is a solid family tradition, that has already crossed many generations. Its essence can be summarized in 3 words: people, wine, territory.

Carlo Primosic, the founder, at the end of the 19th century, was supplying wine to the merchants in Vienna from Friuli. His son, Silvan, had the difficult task to revamp the winery out of the rubble of the Second World War. The first harvest to be bottled was in 1964, and after only a few years, the first Italian and international recognition arrived. The Collio Consortium was founded in 1967, of which Silvan was one of the first members: it is not by coincidence the “Number One” bottle from the Consortium is from the Primosic cellars. Silvan is still running Primosic with the aid of his two sons, Marko and Boris.

Through the years, in the search for the best orientation and the most appropriate land for each individual grape variety, Primosic wines have designed a personal and unique painting of the land, especially with his line of orange wines from Oslavia.

Primosic produces wonderful wines with local and international grapes: Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Sauvignon, Malvasia and Pinot Grigio. 

The winery follows a protocol of pest management (S.Q.N.P.I. certification), that allows us to reduce spraying and watering only when they are actually necessary for the plants. This way they manage to constantly improve the quality of the grapes, and at the same time, they respect the environment, with a sustainable approach.

Some of the practices they implement are the exclusive use of organic fertilizers and green manure; mechanical weeding without recourse to herbicides; fighting soil erosion through the use of terracing and drainage.
