Panizzi is one of the pioneer of the renaissance of the Vernaccia di San Gimignano, putting importance of finding the right terroir and “Cru” for this wine.

Panizzi Winery encompasses 4 vineyards in the San Gimignano production area (Santa Margherita, Larniano, Montagnana and Lazzaretto) and one vineyard, Pian dei Cerri Seggiano, on the slopes of Mount Amiata.

At the core of Panizzi production is Vernaccia di San Gimignano, to which an equally important attention is given to sangiovese, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and pinot nero. We are testing out on the slopes of Mount Amiata traminer, semillon and sauvignon blanc.

From these rich and diverse vineyards, all together summing 60 ha, Panizzi produces a small portfolio of exceptional estate grown wines.

In Panizzi, organic and sustainable farming practices are employed. Production protocols are all based on respect for the consumer and the environment. No chemical fertilizers, herbicides or harmful pesticides are used. Pannizzi makes use of green manure and residual bio masses from harvest. Further fertilizations are made with exclusively properly matured animal manure. Extreme importance is given to the age of the vines, letting them grow according to their natural tendencies; as a result, they reach much more advanced ages, resulting in the root going deeper. Stewardship of human resources is also of prime importance; we adopt hands-on vine tending and have minimized mechanical means. Starting with 2020 vintage all our vineyards and olive oil are 100% organically certified.
