Le Palaie

The story of Le Palaie began in 1996, when Nino Angelo Caponi purchased a seventeenth-century farmhouse with the idea of creating a peaceful country retreat for his family. Born into a family of winegrowers, Nino initially chose a different professional path, completing his studies and, at just twenty-four years old, founding a company that would become a leader in international wine logistics, exporting wines from Italy, France, Spain, Chile, and Australia to markets around the world. Despite his success, Nino never lost his connection to his origins. His passion for wine eventually drew him back to the land, inspiring him to plant the first vineyards at Le Palaie. In 2004, the estate produced its first vintage, marking the beginning of a project rooted in family values, curiosity, and a desire to express the potential of the territory. Today, although Nino is no longer present, his vision lives on through his family and a close-knit team of collaborators. Le Palaie remains a deeply family-driven estate, now involving two daughters, their spouses, and a new generation represented by seven grandchildren, all contributing to the continuity of the project. The winery itself, inaugurated in 2013, reflects Nino Caponi’s innovative spirit and experimental approach. Equipped with a modern vat cellar and an underground barrique cellar, the space blends winemaking with art: sculptures placed in niches among the barrels create the atmosphere of an underground gallery. The estate spans approximately 150 hectares, of which 19 are dedicated to vineyards. Le Palaie produces a diverse range of wines that express both creativity and respect for the land, supported by the guidance of oenologist Andrea Secco. After years of experimentation and careful study of the territory, the estate committed to a sustainable vision, beginning the path toward organic certification. Today, Le Palaie stands as a dynamic Tuscan winery where tradition, innovation, and family heritage come together to shape wines of personality and balance.
