Ferruccio Deiana

A great passion for wine and solid technical expertise led Ferruccio Deiana to found his own winery, fulfilling a long-standing dream of cultivating vineyards and producing wines under his own name. His mission from the very beginning was to shine a spotlight on the Basso Campidano and Parteolla areas, a region of Sardinia rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. Located between Cagliari and the rugged landscapes of Punta Serpeddì, within the Sarrabus-Gerrei territory, this land has been a natural home to grapevines, wheat, and olive trees since ancient times. Ferruccio’s vision was immediately shared by his wife Mariagrazia and later embraced by their son Dario, who worked alongside his father for many years before officially joining the winery. Today, the family continues its journey with the same passion, dedication, and respect for the land. The winery is located in the municipality of Settimo San Pietro, near Cagliari, mainly in the area known as Su Leunaxi. The estate covers approximately 100 hectares, with vineyards planted on gently rolling hills using a Guyot training system. The original vineyards were planted in the early 1990s in Settimo San Pietro, while newer plots are located in the Sibiola area, within the municipality of Serdiana. The soils are deep, well-drained, and characterized by a marl subsoil that regulates water retention. A drip irrigation system ensures optimal vine development during the hottest months, allowing the grapes to reach perfect ripeness. The winery combines traditional knowledge with modern viticultural and winemaking techniques, resulting in wines that are both expressive and precise. The grape varieties cultivated are those historically linked to Sardinia, including Vermentino, Cannonau, Monica, Carignano, Bovale, Barbera Sarda, Malvasia, Nasco, and Moscato, each chosen to best express the unique characteristics of the territory.
