Cantina Cinque Terre

Thanks to the Cooperativa Agricoltura’s considerable investment over the years in the most advanced enological technologies, the area and the grapes’ natural characteristics are accentuated in the production of a wine of extraordinary quality.

With its headquarters in Groppo, Riomaggiore, built in 1982 with the same materials used in vine terracing, the Cantina della Cooperativa Agricoltura delle Cinque Terre is the area’s only major winery that guarantees a high level of investment in the most modern vinification technologies.

And this with a single and constant aim: to unleash all of the flavor and all of the splendor of the Cinque Terre from the incredibly limited yield of these vineyards.

THE PRODUCTION AREA

The vine varieties are planted on characteristic terraces created with backfill and supported by dry walls, man-made over centuries. Arriving at a maximum height of a meter and sometimes only 50-60 centimeters from the ground, the pergolas are protected from inclement spring winds.

The terrain readily exposed to the sea air, to warmth and to water; a moderate climate sheltered from the rigors of the north; ideal exposure to the sun; the dry walls’ own stones that reflect the warmth of the sun’s rays so that the maturation of the grapes is accelerated. These things, together with human effort, are the unique ingredients that have make the Cinque Terre’s reputation for wine making legendary.
