Generazione Alessandro

Generazione Alessandro is the Etna project born from the vision and passion of Benedetto, Anna and Benedetto, the fourth generation of a historic Sicilian winegrowing family rooted in Camporeale, in the province of Palermo. Raised among the vineyards of their fathers’ estate, Alessandro di Camporeale, the three cousins developed a deep connection with viticulture from an early age, taking part in harvests and daily winery life. Over time, they refined their skills working full-time within the family winery, gaining experience in vineyard management, winemaking, marketing and communication. Driven by the desire to explore a new and extraordinary terroir, they chose Mount Etna, the first DOC denomination established in Sicily in 1968 and one of the most complex and expressive wine regions in the world. Thus was born Generazione Alessandro, a project dedicated to interpreting Etna through elegance, precision and respect for nature. The estate extends over approximately ten hectares on the north-eastern slope of Mount Etna. Although the vineyards are located close to one another, each parcel presents distinct geomorphological, soil and microclimatic characteristics, profoundly influencing grape quality and expression. An ancient rural building houses the winery, where tradition meets modern winemaking. Microclimates The diversity of Etna’s microclimates is one of its most fascinating features. While the altitude creates typical mountain conditions, the southern latitude ensures strong Mediterranean sunlight. Vineyards on the northern slopes benefit from the protection of the Nebrodi Mountains and enjoy a drier climate, while eastern exposures, closer to the sea, experience greater humidity, rainfall and cloud cover. Soils The volcanic soils are equally complex and varied. Composed mainly of fine to coarse volcanic sands, they differ in iron content, calcium presence and alkalinity depending on the lava flows from which they originate. Continuous volcanic activity enriches the soils with ash and lapilli, providing natural long-term fertilization and contributing to the unmistakable mineral character of Etna wines.
