Podere Ruggeri Corsini
Ruggeri Corsini is a small family run winery, founded in 1996. This winery
is located on the hills that connect La Bussia to the center of Monforte
d’Alba. The vineyards span 25 acres of which about 18 acres are planted
with Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Pinot Nero grapes, on slopes with southern exposure
at an altitude of 1,476 feet above sea level. Presently the winery is in
a phase of expansion and renovation. The environment of this winery is not
only based on the century old tradition of wine making, but also on more
contemporary and scientific experiments, to create a more productive vineyard.
The owners of the winery are collaborating and sharing their knowledge of
winemaking with other piemontese producers as well as with scientists of
the University of Torino. The quality of grapes from low yielding vines
is fundamental to this vineyard. At the winery the vinification is conducted
with basic traditional method for most wines while the finer wines are aged
in barriques. Their annual production is approximately 400 cases of Dolcetto. |
