Cascina La Barbatella
This winery, founded in 1983, is located in Nizza Monferrato (Asti) and
owned by Emiliana Martini Sonvico and Angelo Sonvico. The vineyard extends
approximately 182 acres and is planted with Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon,
Sauvignon Blanc and Cortese grapes. The terrain is mostly calcareous, though
mixture of sand and clay vary as decisively as do microclimates from one
valley to the next. At an altitude of 720 feet above sea level, these slopes
enjoy a southeastern exposure—an ideal environment that contributes
to the production of this big red wine. The annual production of Noe is
250 cases.
