Cennatoio
The owners of Cennatoio are Leandro, his wife Gabriella Alessi and their
son Emiliano. They manage the winery along with the cooperation of experienced
oenologist Gabriella Tani, an accomplished student of Dott. Tachis. This
estate is ideally located in the realm of Chianti Classico, “the enchanted
ground of Italian wines.” Cennatoio’s vast landscape measures
106 acres, of which 25 acres are vineyards and 20 acres of Chianti Classico.
Situated at an altitude of 1,650 feet above sea level, these slopes open
towards a spectacular view of hillsides carpeted with woods, brush land,
and vines. This vineyard enjoys a southern exposure, with moderate climate
and favorable marley soil; an environment that accounts for a major share
of the biggest and longest-lived reserves. The vines are trained with the
runner system. The planting density is 940 plants per acre, while the new
vineyards are planted with 1500 vines per acre, which enables this vineyard
to produce notable Chianti, at a rate of 3,600 cases per year. |
